MZ Electronic wins the Design Innovation Award 2026

MZ Electronic wins the Design Innovation Award 2026 with the new vertical towing winch MILOS COAX that MZ Electronic presented at the 66th International Boat Show. MILOS COAX is designed for vessels from 20 to 35 meters and is engineered and produced by MZ Electronic. The company, founded in 1993, specializes in the design and production of accessories and electronic and mechanical equipment for the nautical industry.

The classic configuration towing at 90° requires, both for installation and for maintenance, access from below deck, and this type of intervention is not always straightforward. Thanks to the “in-line” layout and the optional counterplate, it is possible to manage any intervention without the slightest access from below deck, operating entirely from the outside.

MZ Electronic MILOS COAX, technical features

• The product is available with 24V or 48V power supply.

• The available motor power options are 2700W and 3000W.

• It comes with a gearbox featuring marine-grade painting and epicyclic gears. The epicyclic gear has an efficiency of about 90% compared to approximately 60% of a worm gear; this means that, for the same motor, it offers significantly superior performance.

Thanks to the acquisitions of ORVEA, Officina Navale Nanni, and Progetto Elica (SBM), the company now boasts a wide range of products, including: anchor windlasses, towing systems, chain stopper guides, electronic control accessories, maneuvering propellers, propulsion propellers, supports, and rudders.
