Sestante 6.8 Sea Wolf: honorable mention at the Design Innovation Award
Verga 1958 x Cracking Art wins the prestigious Honorable Mention with the new creation presented in grand style at the 66th International Boat Show in Genoa
Sestante 6.8 Lupo di Mare represents a sophisticated evolution of the classic lines of the Sestante 6.8, originally inspired by the charm of the Italian Dolce Vita. Born from the design of the shipyard together with Matteo Costa Yacht & Design, this special version transforms a boat into a true work of art, breaking down the barriers between art, boating, and design.

Sestante 6.8 Lupo di Mare: the partnership with Suzuki
The strong ecological footprint of the project is also perceived from the precise technological choices.
Verga 1958 and Cracking Art have chosen Suzuki Italia Marine as the official engine partner; indeed, the Suzuki outboard installed on board is equipped with the integrated system #lavalacqua (Suzuki Micro Plastic Collector). During navigation, this device uses the engine’s cooling circuit to collect and retain microplastics present in the water, returning it to the sea perfectly filtered.
A perfect synergy with the philosophy of Cracking Art, a movement born in 1993 that has as its trademark the transformation of regenerated plastic into works of art.
The Wolf: guardian and custodian of the marine ecosystem
At the center of the collaboration lies the iconic figure of the Wolf of Cracking Art, which comes on board not as a mere aesthetic finish, but with a profound symbolic meaning: the Wolf becomes the “guardian of the sea,” a vigilant presence protecting aquatic life and biodiversity.
Through this figure, the pleasure of navigation meets a renewed responsibility towards the fragility of marine ecosystems, reminding owners and enthusiasts that what we love and live must be constantly protected.

Design Innovation Award 2026 and Limited Edition
The Honorable Mention, in addition to rewarding the ability to dialogue between design, contemporary art, nautical tradition, and technology, recognizes the value of generational transition at Verga 1958. From the initial vision of Franca Verga and Roberto Bitturini, the company now finds new life in the new generation led by Stefano and Elisa Bitturini, ready to open the Italian manufacturing legacy to artistic and technological contaminations of international scope.
This Honorable Mention makes us particularly proud because it recognizes the value of a project born from the meeting of different skills, sensitivities, and languages, said Stefano Bitturini of Verga 1958. Sestante 6.8 Lupo di Mare well represents the way we envision the future of Verga 1958: starting from our history and the Italian nautical culture to continue experimenting, opening ourselves to art, design, and innovation. The Wolf has become the guardian of this vision: a presence that reminds us that living the sea also means respecting it and taking care of the life it holds. It is truly an incredible result made possible thanks to the collaboration with Cracking Art, Matteo Costa Yacht & Design, Suzuki Italia Marine, and all the people who believed in the project and contributed to making it possible.

The Sestante 6.8 Lupo di Mare will not be for everyone: indeed, it will be produced in an ultra-limited edition of only five numbered specimens, each indissolubly linked to its original sculpture of the Wolf. To guarantee its exclusivity, each unit will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity and a metal plate with a serial number.
But art on board also meets maximum nautical practicality: thanks to the innovative Lupo ArtLock system installed on the swim platform, the sculpture can be securely fastened during stops and released with a simple gesture before setting sail.
With this project, Verga 1958 and Cracking Art surpass the concept of a mere vessel, signing a coveted object capable of merging craftsmanship, contemporary art, and maritime culture.
